Oak Beetle

Momir Bojic is a 71 year old Bosnian pensioner who evidently needed a long term project in his life. He built a Volkswagen Beetle from over 50,000 separate pieces of oak.

He spent two years covering the bodywork of a Beetle with thousands of hand crafted oak tiles. The additional oak pieces needed for the steering wheel, hubcaps, radio, etc. were made in his garden workshop.

The car is roadworthy and garners lots of attention where ever he drives it.  Additional images can be seen here.
