Trina Merry spent nine hours painting 17 nude models and formed them into a Nepalese temple in San Jose, California. It is part of her work with Beyond the Four Walls which is an organization that works with young women in Nepal to improve their lives.

Also known as Detroit agate these gem like pieces are in fact relics from the automotive industry. Over spray buildup on tracks and hangers made numerous trips through the curing ovens at facilities that painted cars and parts. This buildup was occasionally removed. The color layering provided interesting pieces as they were cut and polished. Today's technology has eliminated the processes that produced this layering of multiple paint colors, so the supply has dried up...

Harry Whittier Frees was born in 1879 and in 1906 he began photographing dogs and cats dressed as humans. His small studio expanded as he produced postcards, calendars and children's books. See more examples of his work at The Atlantic

This water purification system is the size of a book- in fact the system is based on a book. The treated pages serve as filters for the compact unit. A single filter will provide a person with clean water for thirty days. The book has enough filters to provide a person with safe drinking water for four years.

Four killed and nine wounded on Kent State University's campus. Many have attempted to explain just what went wrong on that beautiful spring day in Ohio, but no one agrees on the answer.
An apparent unbiased look at the circumstances surrounding the tragedy were presented in a paper by Jerry M. Lewis and Thomas R. Hensley. Jerry M. Lewis is an Emeritus Professor of Sociology at Kent State University. You can read the paper here.

Zimoun is an artist that creates installations that are described as "architecturally-minded platforms of sound". The video is of an installation called 36 Ventilators, 4.7m3 Packing Chips at the Museo d'Arte di Lugano in Switzerland.
